February 4, 2011: Tampa, FL 33603 In Friday's non-league outing, the Tampa Catholic Crusaders (Tampa, FL) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Jesuit Tigers (Tampa, FL), by a margin of 50-39.
The Tigers now own a 21-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Middleton for a non-league outing on Wednesday, February 9. Jesuit will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 59-39 non-league loss to Chamberlain (Tampa, FL). The Tigers record now stands at 3-16.
First Quarter
Both teams played their games and traded baskets. Good defense and only a few turnovers.
Second Quarter
Tampa Catholic pulled ahead by getting important rebounds and nailing three point shots. There was a strong contribution from the bench to help TC lead by 6 at the half.
Third Quarter
Tampa Catholic continued to hit from both outside and inside. They went on a 20 to 0 tear when they were behind by 6.
Fourth Quarter
Tampa Catholic continued to defend well against a team that beat them the last time out. Holding Jesuit to 9 in each of the last quarters made the difference. TC made foul shots when needs and left the court to a roaring home town crowd.
