Kentucky High School Basketball - Russell County holds off Madison Southern
February 14, 2012: Russell Springs, KY 42642 Russell County Lakers (Russell Springs, KY) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting Madison Southern Eagles (Berea, KY), 79-78 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Russell County upgrades its record to 21-5 on the season. The Lakers travel to Allen County (Scottsville, KY) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Friday, February 17. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 11-18. Allen County lost 72-63 in their recent non-league bout against Warren Central (Bowling Green, KY)
Next up, the Eagles play the Frankfort Panthers (Frankfort, KY) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 17. Madison Southern will attempt to upgrade on its 8-18 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 12-14 record after their 71-58 non-league loss to Harrison County (Cynthiana, KY).
