In Friday's non-league contest, the Rio Linda Knights (Rio Linda, CA) softball team overwhelmed the host McClatchy Lions (Sacramento, CA), by a margin of 5-0.

With the triumph, Rio Linda moves its record to 2-1 on the year. The Knights travel to Monterey Trail (Elk Grove, CA) to play the Mustangs in a non-league contest on Saturday, March 2.
