Capital Cougars (Charleston, WV) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Parkersburg Big Reds (Parkersburg, WV), 63-56 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Capital upgrades its record to 4-2 on the campaign. The Cougars host Greenbrier East (Lewisburg, WV) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Friday, March 19. The Spartans come into the bout with a record of 3-1. Greenbrier East lost 65-60 in their recent non-league bout against Huntington (Huntington, WV)

Next up, the Big Reds play the Wheeling Park Patriots (Wheeling, WV) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, March 20. Parkersburg will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 4-3 record after their 36-35 non-league loss to University (Morgantown, WV).
