California High School Volleyball - Placer edged by Rio Americano
March 19, 2013: Sacramento, CA 95864 The Rio Americano Raiders held off the visiting Placer Hillmen volleyball team by a score of 3-2 in Tuesday's league test.
The Raiders now have a 6-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Antelope for a Capital test on Thursday, March 21. Rio Americano will confront a Titans team coming off a 3-1 league loss to Bear River (Grass Valley, CA). The Titans record now stands at 3-7.
The Hillmen (6-6) will now prepare for their test against El Camino (Sacramento, CA). The Eagles enter the Capital test with a 7-4 record. In their last test, El Camino was nudged by Whitney (Rocklin, CA), 3-0, in a league test.
Match Summary
The Rio Americano team battled back from a flat start to get a hard fought victory. The Raiders were led by the outside hitting of Doug McDonald and key blocking of Alex O'Toole. Filling in tonight at opposite with consistent serving was Ian Kinn.
