Lincoln Cougars (Shinnston, WV) fans were pleased Friday as they witnessed their football team notch a victory over the visiting Braxton County Eagles (Sutton, WV), 14-6 in a non-league game.

With the win, Lincoln improves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Cougars host Byrd (Clarksburg, WV) to meet the Eagles in a Big Ten game on Friday, September 2. The Eagles enter the game with a record of 0-1.

The Eagles (0-1) will now prepare for their game against Clay County (Clay, WV). The Panthers enter the Little Kanawha game with a 0-1 record.
