The Russell Red Devils (Russell, KY) football routed the visiting Boyd County Lions (Ashland, KY), 49-0 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Red Devils face the West Carter Comets (Olive Hill, KY) in a 3A District 5 bout, on Friday, September 21. Russell will attempt to advance on its 2-3 season record. The Comets enter the bout with a 2-2 record after their 35-14 non-league win over Nicholas County (Carlisle, KY).
