In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Midland Trail Patriots (Hico, WV) basketball squad beat the host Sherman Tide (Seth, WV), by a count of 56-40.

The Patriots (7-1) will now prepare for their outing against Nicholas County (Summersville, WV). The Grizzlies go into the Coalfield AA outing with a 4-5 record. In their last outing, Nicholas County was topped by Hoover (Clendenin, WV), 82-55, in a league outing.
