In Saturday's league match, the host Pocahontas County Warriors basketball team scored a tight 31-28 triumph over the East Hardy Cougars.

In their next game, the Warriors meet the East Fairmont Bees (Fairmont, WV) in a non-league match, on Saturday, January 9. Pocahontas County will attempt to better on its 3-2 season record. The Bees enter the match with a 0-1 record after their 74-22 non-league loss to North Marion (Farmington, WV).

With the defeat, East Hardy moves to 0-2 on the year.

Game Summary

The PCHS JV team beat East Hardy by only three points for the second time this season-- 31-28 this time. The Warriors took the first half 20-12, and the Cougars roared back with a 16-11 second half. Junior Brittney Sharp was again game high scorer with 9 points, 8 steals and 1 block. Freshman Brianna Hefner added 8 points and 13 rebounds. Sophomore Skye Metzer and Emma Baker led EHHS with 7 and 6 points respectively. The PCHS JV improves to 3-2.
