Florida High School Basketball - Tampa Catholic edges Robinson
December 20, 2010: Tampa, FL 33616 The Tampa Catholic Crusaders (Tampa, FL) basketball nipped the host Robinson Knights (Tampa, FL), 65-60 in Monday's non-league test.
The Crusaders (6-1) will now prepare for their test against Blake (Tampa, FL). The Yellowjackets go into the non-league test with a 9-0 record. In their last test, Blake got by Strawberry Crest (Dover, FL), 50-20, in a non-league test.
The Knights now own a 8-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Strawberry Crest for a non-league test on Tuesday, December 21. Robinson will clash with a Chargers squad coming off a 50-20 non-league loss to Blake (Tampa, FL). The Chargers record now stands at 4-5.
First Quarter
Both teams got off to a sloppy start only scoring 10 for Tampa Catholic and 6 points for Robinson.
Second Quarter
Tampa Catholic and Robinson still had troubles on offense. Tampa Catholic failed to make many free throws but managed to lead by 4 at the half.
Third Quarter
Robinson outscored Tampa Catholic 18 to 13 and took the lead at the end of the quarter. Foul shooting still plaqued both teams.
Fourth Quarter
Robinson pressed and managed to tie the game at regulation.
Overtime
Leshawn Harrison took over during overtime and scored 11 of the 13 points giving Tampa Catholic their seventh win.
