This season hasn't been kind to The Mariposa County Grizzlies, who are still winless after their tenth game. They were beaten by Le Grand 49-20 on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mariposa County in their matchups with Le Grand: they've now lost four in a row.
Taxtyn Weiland and Laten Butler certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Weiland rushed for 192 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, while Butler rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Weiland really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run.
Alexis Granados was his usual excellent self, rushing for 222 yards while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Diego Martinez was another key contributor, throwing for 164 yards and three touchdowns.
Mariposa County's defeat was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. As for Le Grand, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Mariposa County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Le Grand will be playing in front of their home fans against Waterford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
