The Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They fell 56-43 to Amplus Academy. The matchup was a 23-23 toss-up at halftime, but Southeast Career Tech couldn't quite close it out.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Amplus Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cody Clark, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Clark has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Falna Ahferom, who scored 15 points.
Southeast Career Tech dropped their record down to 1-16 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.3 points per game. As for Amplus Academy, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.
Southeast Career Tech will challenge Rancho at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Rancho knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matches -- so hopefully Southeast Career Tech likes a good challenge. As for Amplus Academy, they will be playing at home against Somerset Sky Pointe at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Somerset Sky Pointe is ranked 69th, while Amplus Academy is ranked 93rd).
