In what's become a running theme this season, the Franklin Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They really took it to Pleasant Grove for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-32 victory on the road. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Franklin had established a 22 point advantage.
Franklin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Olivia Nicolas led the charge by scoring 19 points. Another player making a difference was Tasiana Carr, who scored 15 points.
Despite the loss, Pleasant Grove saw an underclassman step up: Leila Williamson scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
The victory (which was Franklin's third in a row) raised their record to 15-10. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.3 points. As for Pleasant Grove, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin will square off against St. Francis at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in St. Francis' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. As for Pleasant Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Sheldon at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sheldon is coming into the game with three straight losses at home, meaning Pleasant Grove will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
