The Estill County Engineers were the 70-64 winner over the Wolfe County Wolves when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Estill County took a 87-80 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (68), Estill County still had to take the loss.
Leading Wolfe County to victory were Caleb Creech and Corey Flinchum. Creech scored 27 points along with five rebounds, while Flinchum scored 26 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Creech has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times he's played. Brady Robinson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
Estill County's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7. As for Wolfe County, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Estill County will be playing in front of their home fans against the Owls / Lady Owls at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Owsley County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Engineers are ranked 123rd). As for Wolfe County, they will head out on the road to face off against the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
