The Waverly Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 54-32 defeat at the hands of South Webster. Waverly has not had much luck with South Webster recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Eli Roberts was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with three blocks for South Webster. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Sommer, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Waverly has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for South Webster, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-2.
Waverly will be playing at home against Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Waverly is coming into the matchup with four straight losses at home, meaning Valley will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for South Webster, they will head out on the road to square off against Portsmouth West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Portsmouth West will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 514th, while South Webster is ranked 77th).
