The Valley Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Foothill Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Valley is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Valley suffered a tough 40-17 defeat at the hands of Cordova.
Meanwhile, Foothill's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 32-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cordova.
Foothill's defeat came about despite a quality game from Joyce Runner, who scored nine points. That was a full 47.4% of Foothill's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season. As for Foothill, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.
Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Foothill when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 37-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
