Elk Grove has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the St. Francis Troubadours at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Elk Grove comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 62-25, which was the final score in Elk Grove's tilt against the Wolfpack on Wednesday. Elk Grove has not had much luck with the Wolfpack recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Nyla Kieu put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 16 points. That was a full 64% of Elk Grove's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, St. Francis lost to the Wildcats at home by a decisive 51-36 margin on Wednesday.
Despite their defeat, St. Francis saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Bria McGahan, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. McGahan hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Chidera Okoye was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 12 rebounds.
Elk Grove dropped their record down to 3-19 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.7 points per game. As for St. Francis, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.
Elk Grove took a serious blow against the Troubadours in their previous matchup back in January, falling 95-19. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Elk Grove was down 57-9.
