Nelson County and Bardstown are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Nelson County Cardinals will head out on the road to take on the Bardstown Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Nelson County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Bardstown is ranked 46th).
While it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, Nelson County was not quite Meade County's equal in the second half on Tuesday. Nelson County had to suffer through a rough 79-51 loss at the hands of Meade County. Nelson County has not had much luck with Meade County recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Bardstown entered their tilt with Adair County with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Bardstown enjoyed a cozy 54-36 win over Adair County on Monday.
Nelson County has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Bardstown, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Nelson County might still be hurting after the 55-35 defeat they got from Bardstown in their previous meeting on January 3rd. Can Nelson County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
