Great Crossing will be playing at home against the Whitefield Academy Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
After a string of three wins, Great Crossing's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lafayette by a score of 55-53.
Meanwhile, Whitefield Academy put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Shawnee 62-28 at home. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Whitefield Academy had established a 20 point advantage.
Whitefield Academy can attribute much of their success to Allison Spieker, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Noel Smith, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Spieker continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sara Ritter, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Great Crossing's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Whitefield Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
