If the Hammond Morton Governors were feeling good off their 75-45 takedown of the Hobart Brickies on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Hammond Morton was outmatched by the Wildcats on the road and fell 86-48. While losing is never fun, Hammond Morton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Wildcats are ranked first).
Leading Lawrence North to victory were Azavier Robinson and Cameron Webster. Robinson scored 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Webster almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine assists. It was the first time this season that Webster posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Myles Baker, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Hammond Morton's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Lawrence North, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.
Hammond Morton will be playing at home against the Blazers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Marquette Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday. As for Lawrence North, they will head out on the road to square off against the Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Carmel is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
