Oakmont is 0-9 against the Miners since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Oakmont Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Nevada Union Miners at 7:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Oakmont and four for the Miners.
Last Thursday, Oakmont was beaten by the Fighting Zebras 68-28. While losing is never fun, Oakmont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 820th, while the Fighting Zebras are ranked 166th).
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Nevada Union, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-38 loss to the Hillmen on Thursday.
Oakmont has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for Nevada Union, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
Oakmont came up short against the Miners in their previous meeting back in January, falling 40-36. Can Oakmont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
