Spring Valley has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Parkersburg Big Reds at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in West Virginia (Spring Valley is ranked eighth, while the Big Reds are ranked fifth).
Last Thursday, Spring Valley took a serious blow against the Tomcats, falling 60-29. Spring Valley has not had much luck with the Tomcats recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Parkersburg earned a 59-49 victory over the Flying Eagles on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Parkersburg.
Trinity Balog was her usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 32 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Parkersburg's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Flanagan, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Spring Valley's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Parkersburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
Spring Valley beat the Big Reds 58-49 when the teams last played back in March of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spring Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
