The St. Francis Troubadours lost against the Franklin Wildcats back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. St. Francis took a hard 51-36 fall against Franklin.
St. Francis' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bria McGahan, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. McGahan hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chidera Okoye, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds.
Franklin's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tasiana Carr, who scored 14 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aletha Singleton, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
St. Francis' defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Franklin, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-9.
St. Francis will head out on the road to face off against Elk Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Francis is facing Elk Grove at the right time seeing as Elk Grove is stuck on a 17-game losing streak. As for Franklin, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Davis Sr. at 6:30 p.m. Franklin is coming into the game with seven straight wins at home, so Davis Sr. is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
