The Colony is 8-0 against Turner since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Colony Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Turner Lions at 6:00 p.m. The Colony has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 502 points over their last seven matchups.
The Colony pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Lone Star by a score of 61-59.
Meanwhile, Turner's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 82-51 loss at the hands of Lone Star. While losing is never fun, Turner can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 693rd, while Lone Star is ranked 36th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Rodney Gray, who scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Marcos Espinoza, who scored 13 points.
The Colony's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 24-5. As for Turner, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 15-14.
Everything came up roses for The Colony against Turner when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 76-48 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for The Colony since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
