The Bergenfield Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 75-55 walloping at the hands of St. Joseph Regional. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bergenfield in their matchups with St. Joseph Regional: they've now lost eight in a row.
Leading St. Joseph Regional to victory were Anthony Pacciarelli and Jahmir Joseph. Pacciarelli scored 19 points, while Joseph scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Pacciarelli continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chaz Gray, who scored nine points.
Bergenfield's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8. As for St. Joseph Regional, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Bergenfield will head out on the road to take on Fair Lawn at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fair Lawn will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. St. Joseph Regional will take on St. Peter's Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Peter's Prep is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
