Green Valley is 0-3 against the Crusaders since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Green Valley Gators will head out on the road to take on the Faith Lutheran Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Green Valley sitting on six straight wins and the Crusaders on nine.
Last Monday, Green Valley humbled the Bengals with a 63-33 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-17.
Brock Barney continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Deymien Tunis, who scored 13 points along with seven steals and six assists.
Meanwhile, even though Valley scored an imposing 61 points on Monday, Faith Lutheran still came out on top. Faith Lutheran snuck past the Vikings with a 66-61 victory.
Green Valley is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Faith Lutheran, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Things could have been worse for Green Valley, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-54 loss to the Crusaders in their previous meeting back in January. Can Green Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
