Make it four blowout wins for the Spring Valley Timberwolves this season. Everything went their way against Riverside on Wednesday as Spring Valley made off with a 57-32 win. Given Spring Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Riverside is ranked 68th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Riverside lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Laila Campbell, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ava Ward, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
Spring Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
Spring Valley will head out on the road to challenge Cabell Midland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Riverside, they will be playing at home against Capital at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Capital is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
