The Albany Academy for Boys Cadets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Sunday. They came out on top against Troy by a score of 82-71. The win was nothing new for Albany Academy for Boys as they're now sitting on five straight.
Troy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamil Taylor, who scored 21 points. That's the first time this season that Taylor scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Legend Merritt, who scored 17 points.
Albany Academy for Boys' win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Troy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Albany Academy for Boys will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Shaker at 6:30 p.m. As for Troy, they will head out on the road to square off against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Troy in New York (Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake is ranked 168th, while Troy is ranked 592nd).
