It was a good run, but the Oak Ridge War Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 72-55 bruising from Willis. While losing is never fun, Oak Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 887th, while Willis is ranked 219th).
Leading Willis to victory were Jermaine Bishop jr and Sj Young. Bishop jr scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Young scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. The contest was Young's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chandler Beasley, who scored 13 points.
Oak Ridge's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 9-14. As for Willis, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-8.
Oak Ridge will be playing in front of their home fans against The Woodlands at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Willis, they will head out on the road to face off against New Caney at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
