The Burlington Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to Acton-Boxborough.
Shannon Patrick continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Acton-Boxborough, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds. The matchup was Patrick's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Baytarian, who scored nine points.
Burlington's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. As for Acton-Boxborough, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burlington will square off against Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Acton-Boxborough won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Everett at 3:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023.
