Burbank has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Grant Pacers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Burbank focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
Last Friday, Burbank had to suffer through a rough 71-9 loss at the hands of the Lions. While losing is never fun, Burbank can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1083rd, while the Lions are ranked 39th).
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Burbank struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-3) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Grant has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of McClatchy. That's two games in a row now that Grant has lost by exactly five points.
Burbank dropped their record down to 4-16 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.0 points per game. As for Grant, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 19-6.
Burbank took a serious blow against the Pacers in their previous matchup back in January, falling 67-3. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Grant's Samaya Dillard, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Now that Burbank knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
