Meanwhile, Calvert Hall unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Frances Academy.
Brendan Johnson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 28 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That was a full 63.6% of Calvert Hall's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tyrin Bizzelle, who scored nine points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Mount St. Joseph's record now sits at 17-2. As for Calvert Hall, they now have a losing record at 15-16.
Mount St. Joseph didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Calvert Hall in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 59-54 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Johnson, who scored 31 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
