The Forest Park Foresters will be home for the holidays to greet the Poly Engineers at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Forest Park will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Saturday, Forest Park humbled Kenwood with a 75-39 victory. Given Forest Park's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Kenwood is ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Poly aren't just finding sucess at home, as their game on Tuesday extended their overall winning streak to three. They snuck past Patterson with a 64-59 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Poly's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcus Matthews, who scored 16 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Matthews has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Gaymon II, who scored 14 points along with five assists and three steals.
Forest Park's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Poly, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
