St. Mary's (Stockton) as Sac-Joaquin Section Co-Players of the Year. The list highlights three teams, honorable mentions and the top player from each class.
Co-Players of the Year
Kamryn Mafua | Jr. | Folsom | Forward/CenterA force down low all season for the Division I section champs. The 6-foot-3 post has a dominating inside presence and averaged 17 points and 7 boards a night while shooting 57 percent. The junior has offers that include Cal and Nevada and Ivy League schools Harvard and Yale.
Jordan Lee | Jr. | St. Mary's (Stockton) | Guard/ForwardHelped St. Mary's back to the Division I section championship for the first time since 2020. The guard/forward is an elite recruit, ranked as the No. 15 junior in the nation by ESPN with offers that include Stanford, Duke and Texas. The junior averaged 19.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and two steals per game for the Rams this season.
Junior of the Year
Harper Peterson | Whitney (Rocklin) | ForwardPeterson led Whitney to its first section championship in school history after scoring 21 points in a game that came down to the wire against Christian Brothers on Feb. 24 at Golden 1 Center. The junior forward averaged 13.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.7 steals for the Wildcats. A top 35 recruit by ESPN, Peterson has offers that include Ohio State, Michigan and Washington.
Sophomore of the Year
A scoring and defensive machine for the Eagles, who fell inches short of playing at Golden 1 Center for the Division II section championship. The sophomore averaged 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.4 steals for a 24-win ball club.
Freshman of the Year
Stepped on to the Capital Christian and immediately made an impact, helping the Cougars head to the playoffs. She dominated, averaging 14.6 points, eight rebounds and two blocks per game.
First team
Charlotte Climenhage | Sr. | Folsom | Guard/ForwardHelped Folsom to its first section championship in school history by playing both ends of the floor efficiently. Headed to Nevada, the senior is a complete team player who can score, pass and play defense at an elite level.
Jada Hunter | Sr. | Christian Brothers (Sacramento) | GuardA defensive wizard, Hunter averaged 5.2 steals for a squad that reached the Division II section championship game. The senior added 19.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.
Mary Carter | Sr. | Antelope | ForwardCarter had the Titans one game away from a berth in the Division I section championship after playing at a high level on both ends of the floor. Going to Cal Poly, the senior ended her season with averages of 20.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.5 steals and 2.2 blocks per contest.
Alyssa Jackson | Sr. | Vanden (Fairfield) | GuardHelped Vanden win back-to-back section championships after scoring 15 points in the Division III finals. The senior guard is going to San Diego State and averaged 20.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 3.9 steals per game.
Nina Cain | So. | McClatchy (Sacramento) | Guard/ForwardLed McClatchy score the No. 4-seed in Division I after averaging 19.6 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.8 steals each night. The sophomore has a 4.2 grade point average and already has offers that include Cal.

Nyah Lowery | Sr. | St. Mary's | Guard/ForwardCommitted to Pacific, Lowery helped the Rams reach the Division I section championship game after averaging 11.2 points and 4.5 rebounds a game.
Katie Leeth | Sr. | Lincoln | ForwardNearly averaged a double-double per game for the Division III section runner-ups.
Kaia Foster | Jr. | Christian Brothers | Guard/ForwardScored, rebounded and defended at a high level for the Division II section finalists.
Bria McGahan | Jr. | St. Francis (Sacramento) | GuardHelped St. Francis win a playoff game after averaging 11.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 steals per game.
Ella Uriarte | Jr. | Folsom | GuardThe floor general was what the Division I section champs needed. Uriarte dished out 5 assists per game, played lockdown defense and could score when the opportunity arose.
