The Dublin Coffman Shamrocks won the last time they faced the Hilliard Davidson Wildcats, and things went their way on Friday too. Dublin Coffman walked away with a 44-37 victory over Hilliard Davidson. Given Dublin Coffman's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Hilliard Davidson is ranked 318th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Yuli Dowell, who scored 12 points. Dowell is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for four games straight. Another player making a difference was Abby Starr, who scored eight points.
Dublin Coffman's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Hilliard Davidson, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Dublin Coffman will head out on the road to face off against St. Francis DeSales at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hilliard Davidson, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Olentangy Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Olentangy Liberty will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Hilliard Davidson surely won't give up without a fight.
