The Spring Valley Timberwolves stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They breezed by Hurricane on the road to the tune of 80-50. Given Spring Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Hurricane is ranked 53rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Hurricane still got an impressive performance from Alexandra Anderson, who scored 20 points along with two blocks. Another player making a difference was Rylyn Bielinski, who scored five points along with five steals.
Spring Valley is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Hurricane, they dropped their record down to 8-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spring Valley will take on Wheeling Park at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hurricane, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against South Charleston at 7:00 p.m.
