It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Parish Episcopal had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Crusaders 48-6 at home. Considering Parish Episcopal has won five contests by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Parish Episcopal relied on the efforts of Maddux Reid, who gained 102 total yards and three touchdowns, and Sawyer Anderson, who threw for 276 yards and five touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes. Anderson hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for seven straight games.
Meanwhile, Antonian Prep's and Trinity Christian's match on Friday was close at halftime, but Antonian Prep turned on the heat in the second half with 42 points. Antonian Prep simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Trinity Christian 55-28 at home. The result was nothing new for Antonian Prep, who have now won five matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Antonian Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayce Toscano, who threw for 311 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Landon Prouty was another key contributor, rushing for 169 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries.
Parish Episcopal pushed their record up to 8-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.0 points per game. As for Antonian Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as Parish Episcopal and Antonian Prep haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Parish Episcopal commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.9 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Antonian Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.8 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
