The Ritchie County Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 58-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Webster County. Ritchie County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Webster County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2016.
Despite the defeat, Ritchie County had strong showings from Andrea Davis, who scored 11 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds, and Elsa Law, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Davis hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chelsie Jeffrey, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Ritchie County has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Webster County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-9.
Ritchie County will be playing in front of their home fans against Magnolia at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Magnolia is coming into the match with seven straight losses on the road, meaning Ritchie County will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Webster County, they will challenge Tygarts Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
