The Walter Northway Warriors came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 56-50 win over Birchwood Christian. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Walter Northway has scored all year.
Birchwood Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Andrew Severns, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds, and Noah Guderian who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Severns scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Worland, who scored six points.
Walter Northway's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. As for Birchwood Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
Walter Northway does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Birchwood Christian will head out on the road to square off against Lumen Christi on Tuesday. Lumen Christi is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
