Great Crossing lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Monday was a bit more commanding. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 53-30 walloping at the hands of Whitefield Academy. Great Crossing has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Allison Spieker was her usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with five steals for Whitefield Academy. Spieker continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sara Ritter, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Great Crossing's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Whitefield Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Great Crossing will take on the Flyers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Franklin County's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight contests. As for Whitefield Academy, they will be playing at home against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
