The Sparkman Senators will head out on the road to face off against the Buckhorn Bucks at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Sparkman is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Sparkman suffered a tough 68-46 loss at the hands of Albertville. While losing is never fun, Sparkman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while Albertville is ranked sixth).
Meanwhile, Buckhorn earned a 51-41 win over Hazel Green on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Buckhorn.
Sparkman bumped their record down to 3-10 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Buckhorn, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Sparkman didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Buckhorn when the teams last played back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 45-40 win. Does Sparkman have another victory up their sleeve, or will Buckhorn turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
