The Bell County Bobcats fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Southwestern Warriors on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 67-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (55), Bell County still had to take the loss.
Southwestern's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Payton Acey, who scored 14 points along with four steals and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinsley Molden, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.
Bell County's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Southwestern, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bell County will face off against South Laurel at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Southwestern, they will head out on the road to square off against Rockcastle County at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rockcastle County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,200 points over their last 18 games.
