The Elk Grove Thundering Herd's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 15th straight defeat. They were outmatched by Pleasant Grove at home and fell 56-14. Elk Grove has struggled against Pleasant Grove recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pleasant Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kate Myers, who scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals. Lyla Alvarado was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Elk Grove's loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Pleasant Grove, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-11.
Elk Grove will head out on the road to square off against Davis Sr. at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Elk Grove comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Pleasant Grove, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Franklin at 6:30 p.m. Pleasant Grove is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
