Franklin came out on top against Cosumnes Oaks by a score of 43-36 on Wednesday. For Franklin, this counts as revenge for the 35-34 loss Cosumnes Oaks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Franklin found their leader in underclassman Tasiana Carr, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ellyana Estacio, who scored nine points along with four blocks and two steals.
Cosumnes Oaks lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Caitlin Subejano, who scored 20 points. That was a full 55.6% of Cosumnes Oaks' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Sophia Mendenhall was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Franklin's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Cosumnes Oaks, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-11.
Franklin will head out on the road to challenge Elk Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Franklin is facing Elk Grove at the right time seeing as Elk Grove is stuck on a 19-game losing streak. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Sheldon at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Cosumnes Oaks is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in California (they are ranked 269th, while Sheldon is ranked 642nd).
