Richard Dalstein

Richard Boyd Dalstein, son of John E. Dalstein and Mardel (Phelps), was born on August 31, 1941, in Jefferson City, MO.

He was united in marriage to Ruth A. (Baurichter) on September 16, 1962, in Jefferson City, MO.

Richard resided most of his life in Jefferson City, MO, and later moved to Springfield, MO.

He retired from Missouri Tourism. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Jefferson City, MO, and attended Seminole Baptist Church once he moved to Springfield, MO.

Richard is survived by his wife, Ruth; two nieces: Barbara Hall of St. Charles, MO, and Carolyn Baker of Fenton, MO; two great nieces: Jessica Zurbriggen and Kimberly Lawson; one great nephew, Tyler Zurbriggen. He is preceded in passing by his parents and one sister, Linda Taggart.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Richard’s name may be made to Seminole Baptist Church, 4221 South National Street, Springfield, MO 65810.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home in Springfield, MO. Funeral services at 11:30 AM. Following funeral services at 1:00 PM, Richard will be laid to rest at MO Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO, where he will receive full military honors.
