A Monett woman is sitting in jail after she allegedly allowed her now husband to have deviate sexual intercourse with her adult daughter, who has severe autism.

Amy Mattlage was charged with trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation and first-degree sexual abuse.

She was arrested along with Randal "Randy" Brown, of Hartville, whom she married after allegations surfaced. He has been charged with three counts of first-degree sodomy and three counts of first-degree sexual abuse.

In late May, Hartville police officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving a woman with autism who was combative and out of control.

Court documents used to charge Mattlage and Brown said the officer investigating the disturbance quickly learned Brown was having a consensual sexual relationship Mattlage, who allegedly allowed and encouraged Brown to also have a sexual relationship with her daughter.

The daughter, who is in her mid-20s, was taken to a Springfield hospital. A forensic interview was later conducted at the Child Advocacy Center.

The daughter, who was not sure of her age, spoke but was difficult to understand. She made grunting noises and rocked back and forth during the interview.

According to the documents, the daughter said her mother did not protect her and that she knew Brown had sex with her, which she did not want. She said Brown left bruises on her legs.

Mattlage told investigators her daughter was diagnosed with autism and had the mental capacity of a young child. She told officers she was aware of the sexual activity between Brown and her daughter.

In a separate interview, Brown said he knew the daughter could not consent to sexual activity.

Authorities in Wright County noted in court documents that as they investigated the allegations in Hartville, they learned Mattlage and Brown had active warrants for their arrests related to sexual abuse allegations in Lawrence County.

In that case from April, court documents noted Mattlage waited in the living room and acted as a lookout in case someone came to check on the possible screaming.

Mattlage and Brown married in late June, shortly before their arrest. They are currently being held without bond.
