Zack Stewart is set to become the next Missouri State baseball player to be taken high in an MLB Draft when it takes place early next week.

The Missouri State star, who also shined at Lebanon High School, should be taken in the first two days of the MLB Draft which begins Sunday night in Arlington, Texas.

Stewart is draft-eligible following his sophomore season. He's among the best left-handed power hitters in the 2024 MLB draft class. The Bears have had players selected in the first five rounds in each of the last two seasons (Drake Baldwin, 2022; Spencer Nivens, 2023).

What are Zack Stewart's options?

As a draft-eligible sophomore, Stewart can sign with an MLB club or return to school, although the latter is unlikely with how high he's expected to be drafted.

The older the players are, the less value teams might assign them in later years. There's also the risk of injury and regression on the field. Stewart turns 21 at the end of the month and there's a chance he can make well over $1 million once he hears his name called.

How much money could Zack Stewart make in the MLB Draft?

The higher Stewart is selected, the more he will make. Each pick is assigned a pick value and it drops by around five figures with each selection.

ESPN projects Stewart going 61st overall to the Baltimore Orioles which carries a pick value of $1,418,900. The final pick of the fourth round, where MLB.com believes he'll be drafted by or before then, carries a $530,400 pick value.

Each selection in the first 10 rounds comes with an assigned value.
