Vote now: Who was the 2023-24 Springfield area high school female team of the year?

You can vote for the News-Leader's female team of the year from all MSHSAA sports across Southwest Missouri for the 2023-24 academic calendar. After another great year of sports in the Ozarks, who will get your vote?

Voting for the male team of the year will go through July 7 with the winner announced later in the week.

Springfield area high school female team of the year nominees

Logan-Rogersville soccer — Qualified for the state semifinals for the first time in program history and earned a fourth-place finish in Class 2.

Diamond softball — Won the Class 2 state championship, the second time the Wildcats have won state in three years.

Nixa wrestling — Captured its second second-place finish in three years while placing in the top four in each of the last three seasons.

Lebanon wrestling — Placed third in the state while giving it four top-three finishes since girls' wrestling was established before the 2021 season.

Skyline basketball — Finished the season 30-2 with a Class 2 state championship victory. It's the program's first state title since 2017.

Fair Grove basketball — Won its second-straight state championship while going 25-7.

Fair Grove volleyball — Won its first state championship in program history with a 35-1-2 record.

Kickapoo basketball — Finished second in the state for the second time in three years. The Lady Chiefs finished the year 30-2.

Chadwick cross country — Won the Class 1 state championship with three runners placing in the top 15.

Clever volleyball — Placed fourth in Class 3 in the program's first semifinal appearance since 2011.

Kickapoo volleyball — Placed fourth in Class 5 while making its second-straight appearance at the state semifinals. The two appearances were the Lady Chiefs' first trip to the semifinals since 1995.
