A 24-year-old man was fatally shot in the face and chest on Tuesday night in what is believed to be a potential road rage incident in New York.
According to a spokesperson for the New York City Police Department (NYPD), the incident occurred at around 10:23 p.m. local time on Tuesday night when officers responded to a call of a vehicle shooting on the southbound Bruckner Expressway, near exit 7A.

The 24-year-old victim, who was identified as Nelson Caban, was transported by emergency medical services (EMS) to the Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx. Police told Newsweek that Caban was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.
According to police, preliminary investigations determined that the victim was traveling southbound on the Bruckner Expressway when a blue sedan drove alongside the victim's vehicle, discharging a firearm at Caban.
The model, year and make of the blue sedan is currently unknown, said police.
After discharging the firearm at the victim, the suspect fled the location in the blue sedan. Police believe that the suspect continued to travel southbound on the Bruckner.
According to police, no arrests have been made in the incident and the investigation is currently ongoing. While the suspect's motives for the shooting are currently unclear, authorities said that they are investigating if the fatal shooting was caused by a potential road rage incident.
Police remained on the scene early Wednesday morning, and the Bruckner Expressway and southbound I-95 were shut down as authorities continued their investigation.
"Due to police activity, all southbound lanes of the Bruckner Expressway are closed at Middletown Road in The Bronx. Consider alternate routes and allow for additional travel time," New York City's emergency notification system wrote on Twitter, causing extensive delays for travelers.
"The Bruckner Expressway / I-95 is shut down southbound at x8a / Westchester Ave with a police investigation. Delays are extensive. Stick with the Hutch this AM," WNBC wrote in a tweet posted by their First 4 Traffic NY account.
