'Drag Race UK Vs World' Queen Janey Jacké Calls Out Online Haters, 'Find A Different Show'

Drag Race UK Vs The World is the latest installment in the Drag Race franchise. The series sees nine Queens from across the world compete to be crowned the ultimate winner and the world champion of Drag Race.

Like the original series, one Queen is eliminated from the competition each week but this time around, the decision is made by one of their fellow Queen, not RuPaul and the judges.

Dutch queen Janey Jacké, who was runner up on Drag Race Holland, was the most recent Queen to be eliminated from the competition.

Speaking to Newsweek and other press outlets, Janey shared she had received a load of love since bowing out from the show, especially from her home country of Holland, so much so, she has been invited back to her "small Catholic village" to host some events.

She shared: "I have to say there has not been a single negative comment coming from anybody in my country, which makes me so happy and so proud. Everybody is so proud of me and every single time I do a show or I do a gig or we do a viewing party, everybody's just living and I love them for it so much. They're so proud to have a Dutch Queen on this platform and this level.

"I got a call not too long ago from my hometown, and they're doing this really big event and they want me to be hosting a part of the event, which for my hometown...it's literally such a Catholic village. They would never [in the past].

"So for them to be calling me and telling me, 'we are so inspired by your story and your journey and how you did it all on your own and without the support from your direct peers in your village.'

"By having me [there], it's more respect, it's more recognition and it's a little bit more leverage."

Nevertheless, Janey did have something to say for all of the trolls who watch the show and have been giving some of her fellow Queen's hate online, especially in response to the elimination choices they made each week.

Janey reflected: "I don't understand hating in general, I mean, I can understand why you just don't like a person or you have a certain opinion or whatever and if you want to comment under a photo, sure I get it, that's your right but I don't understand hate.

"Basically, it reflects your self-respect. Period. What you put out onto somebody else really reflects your self-respect so if you really are disrespecting and sending death wishes to other people, you really need to have a good conversation with yourself in front of the mirror. "

She continued: "We do this show for ourselves and for our careers. Period. I'm egocentric enough to be able to say that that's what we do it for but we also do it for everybody's entertainment and to show them the beautiful art of drag.

"So why would you put so much hate towards something that we put out there for your entertainment because you're still watching the show b**** and every single time you know how you're hating on me online, but when you meet me at a meet and greet you're crying because you really are so happy to meet me." Janey also had some advice for viewers who are unhappy with the results: sending love to the Queen you support.

She said: "I just don't understand it and I really encourage people not to do it.

"Instead of hating on the Queen you don't like, go to the person that you do love. Send them a lot of positivity to those Queens, book their cameos, buy their prints, buy their merch, do all of that and just don't [send hate]. There's no point in it.

"[People say] 'I'm a fan of the show' Are you though? Shouldn't you watch Law and Order or something else? Find a different show for yourself."

In recent weeks, there have been some shocking eliminations but regardless of the shock factor, sending hateful messages to the Queen's is not warranted.

Last week, when Blu Hydrangea eliminated her biggest rival Pangina, she made a video, posted it to the official Drag Race UK BBC Instagram account, reminding viewers to spread the love.

In her clip, she said: "I will always continue to support her and so should all of you! She is going to be booked and blessed forever because she is an icon and a heard working Queen.

"So no hard feelings. Pangina and I are still friends."

Pangina also posted a video asking fans to not send Blu any hate online. She said: "Please don't send hate because I personally am so close to Blu Hydrangea. She's one of the girls I love the most. Why would you send hate? That takes so much energy and that's so stupid.

"I'm not mad. At any point, I have not been mad at her for eliminating me. It's a competition. Let's not get too crazy with this. Let's be passionate, let's send love, let's send kindness because life is too short to send out hate."

RuPaul's Drag Race UK Versus The World airs every Tuesday at 9 p.m. on BBC Three on TV and BBC iPlayer. The show also airs on WOW Presents Plus on Tuesdays at 4 p.m. ET/ 1 p.m. PT.
